ABOUT US

Cyprus Samaritans was established in Cyprus in1997 and is affiliated to Befrienders Worldwide. This international network has 349 help centres in 32 countries spread over 5 continents.

Our trained Listening volunteers provide free listening or face to face support from our freephone centres in Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca. Our Charity shops cover the bulk of our income; the funds we need to sustain our free helpline service. Shop volunteers work in the two Paphos and one Limassol shops.

Our mission is to provide confidential emotional support to those who are feeling distressed, lonely or unable to cope and who would like someone to listen to them without giving advice or being judgemental.

By law Cyprus Samaritans are not allowed to speak with anyone who tells us they are under 18 years old.

Cyprus Samaritans are totally self funded and as such we are extremely grateful for all donations as it allows us to carry on giving emotional support to those in need through our freephone lines.
